3D electrical panel design
Before fabrication, we model the panel in 3D: enclosure, back plate, component layout, wire ducts and cable entries. You approve the layout before fabrication, and the shop works from an accurate model.
- Footprint and clearance checks
- Component and wiring layout
- Views and drilling drawings for fabrication
3D scanning of panels and onboard spaces
On a vessel, space is tight and original drawings do not always match reality. 3D scanning captures the real dimensions of an existing panel and its location. The new panel or the new main switchboard is then designed to fit the first time.
- Accurate measurement of a panel or technical space
- Mapping of obstacles, cable paths and clearances
- A reliable basis for designing a replacement panel
Drawings that become installations
Our drawings are used directly for fabricating our marine panels, for onboard installation and for commissioning. To validate protections, see our short-circuit studies.
Frequently asked questions
Can you update old or incomplete drawings?
Yes. We survey the installation on board and revise the drawings so they match the actual installation.
What is 3D scanning of a panel used for?
It measures the real dimensions of an existing panel and its location on board, so the replacement panel is designed to fit and connect the first time.
Can I see the panel before it is built?
Yes. We model the panel in 3D and you approve the layout before the shop starts fabrication.
